Every year, in April, Salone Internazionale del Mobile and Fuorisalone define the Milan Design Week, the most important event in the world of design and furnishing.
The Salone del Mobile is the global benchmark for the Home Furnishing and Design Sector, a great vehicle of promotion. It made its first appearance in 1961, designed to promote italian furniture and furnishing in the world, and it has continued to do so impeccably, ensuring that the quality of Italian furniture is known to all four corners of the earth, and continues so to do, with half of all its visitors coming from around the world.
The event offers a 360-degree overview on home furniture world, from the unique piece to sets, representative of all styles, from classic to modern design. A stage that always connects business to culture, building the story of past and modern and future design and furniture, that offers the world high quality products, in the name of innovation.
The Salone Internazionale del Mobile is divided in three type of style: Classic, Design and xLux - the sector dedicated to the timeless luxury, redefined for the contemporary age. An offer that connects quality to technology, result of the best design companies' creativity, able to develop every year its own activity to innovation of products and living solutions.
2019 marks the return of the biennial events Euroluce and Workplace 3.0, which take place in odd years; EuroCucina/FTK (Technology For the Kitchen) and the International Bathroom Exhibition are held in even years.
Fuorisalone is the set of events distributed in different areas of Milan on the same days when the Salone Internazionale del Mobile takes place, which is staged in the stands of Rho Fiera.
Every year, in April, Salone and Fuorisalone define the Milan Design Week, the most important event in the world for design.
The Fuorisalone is not a Fair event, it doesn’t have a central organisation and it’s not managed by any Institution. It started spontaneously early in the 1980's thanks to the will of companies working in the furnishing and industrial design sectors. Currently, it is expanding into many related sectors including automotive, technology, telecommunications, art, fashion and food.
Today, the various exhibitors can organise independently or refer to Studiolabo, which gives assistance: from the search for the location to the definition of strategies and to special communication plans that can be chosen on Fuorisalone.it
